I bought this album way back on vinyl...I already had dozens of Ella records...but this was nicely priced and caught my eye...It became a regularly played LP...then a CD .A wonderful collection of classics from the American songbook series and the tunes and order are perfecto. Ella has the most beautiful voice known to man...If you disagree...Jack you're dead !..This is a must.... Nobody has sung these great songs better than Ella. ( I love Billie Holiday just as much but for very different musical / mood reasons)
'Every Time We Say Goodbye' should be on everybody's playlist . Ella was a one-off totally natural talent with the voice of an angel.
This is one album you should have if you have no Ella...And yeah I know...the cover is shit ! - Gus
