BB King - In London (1971)

This is one of the albums i've bought back on cd, after selling all my LP's, years ago....I'm still hooked on track 2 "Blue shadows", which has such a great blues-rhythm....

B.B. King in London is a studio album by B.B. King recorded in London in 1971. He is accompanied by US session musicians and various British R&B musicians, including Alexis Korner and Rick Wright, as well as members of Spooky Tooth and Humble Pie.The album was released in the United Kingdom on November 19, 1971 in order to coincide with the first date of King's tour of the country. The plodding rhythms laid down by a coterie of British rock stars for this set make one long for B.B. King's road-tested regular band. But it was the fashion in 1971 to dispatch American blues legends to London to record mediocre LPs with alleged rock royalty (the lineup here includes Ringo Starr, Peter Green, Alexis Korner, and Klaus Voorman).

"Caldonia" (Fleecie Moore) -- 4:01
"Blue Shadows" (Lloyd Glenn) -- 5:11
"Alexis Boogie" (Alexis Korner) -- 3:30
"We Can't Agree" (Wilhelmina Gray, Louis Jordan) -- 4:48
"Ghetto Woman" (Dave Clark, B.B. King) -- 5:15
"Wet Hayshark" (Gary Wright) -- 2:29
"Part-Time Love" (Clay Hammond) -- 3:17
"The Power of the Blues" (Pete Wingfield) -- 2:23
"Ain't Nobody Home" (Jerry Ragovoy) -- 3:09

Sorry guys - I'm late again.
.
Peer57, you do a fantastic service here sharing stuff amongst us ingrates.
Hope that nothing down-hearted prevents you from continuing.
Please don't stop.

I didn't download this one though because I have such awful memories of the poverty of English rhythm sections back then.
They seemed to think that unbounded enthusiasm would compensate for 'feel'.
But no - They were wrong.

At least we had Stevie Winwood.
(How did Dave Clark get involved?)
